I have this problem too Panda of not a soul being interested.

I downloaded a form to fill in to put with your paperwork, it's a Genealogical Will with blank spaces to fill in names and addresses of who is to inherit it all from you.

My form remains blank as I just can't think of anybody who wouldn't just take it all to a skip.  :'( :-\ :-[

Yes, that is the biggest danger of loss I think. Not flood or fire, or computer related disasters, but what happens to it all after we're gone. Mind you, I'm not sure I'll be worried too much, as I'd like to think I'd be meeting the ancestors face-to-face anyway.  :)
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.

I found it much easier to sort my files into order on the computer than the hard copy file that I have, and stored in the cloud easy to access from where ever I can log into my account.

Also safer, no malfunction, crash, device failure, fire or flood can get to them.  I still have the hard copy file because I find it easier to refer to it when I am researching a particular branch or I end up confusing myself ;D

The Google Drive that I use will send an email to a person who I can choose if my account is inactive for a specified length of time so you can choose someone to receive all your stored information.

That is if I can find someone who doesn't stare off into space at the mere mention of the word Genealogy, ::) but for now I have chosen my daughter as she expressed a passing interest so perhaps it will develop over time. :D

I'd like to think my youngest son would like to "inherit" it all, if only to have his family tree done for him, at hand. Unless he changes in the future, he is unlikely to carry on with further research. At least it won't be tossed in the rubbish (straight away).

That is an easy problem to solve, put all your assets into a trust fund and make it a condition the the beneficiaries only qualify to benefit if they answer a selection of questions regarding their ancestry. Wrong answers means their share is passed to their siblings &/or other beneficiaries that year. ;)
