Percival Harris

My great Uncle Thomas Vague Pearce b. 1869 Looe,had two children, Olive and Thomas 1898 and 1896 births.
Olive married a Percy Harris, Thomas a Hilda Doney both marriages Bodmin I believe 1916 and 1921.
My dilemma is this, I have no proof that these marriages or people are the right ones. I cannot afford to buy certificates. I think that the Pearce/ Doney marriage had no issue, but the Olive Pearce/ Percy Harris marriage had one son Percival Thomas Henry Vague Harris . I don't think he had children either but he was in the army I believe so a record might help identify him.
We visited an old gentlemen in Cornwall when we were children but I cannot remember who he was.
Any help unravelling this would be great.
