One of the problems here is that he seems to have dropped the "George" in favour of Henry.  He married as Henry and is Henry in 1911.

There is a Henry George Pearce birth in March qtr 1881 in Chard but that would have meant he was 30 in 1911 - not 29

Hello Rosie,
Henry was living at 37 Camp Street Derby.  The witnesses were John Gladwin and Ann Ellen Whittingham (Charlotte's sister).  Regards Maureen.

Yes Rosie, he did work for L.M.S at Derby and was a foreman when he retired. Apparently he spoke very little of his life before Derby.  I do know he took his two sons back to where he was lodging in the Vale of Evesham to meet with his landladies.  Railway records have been searched. I am now wondering if this man has changed his name at some point for whatever reason.  Thank you for your efforts.  Maureen.

Hi Everyone,
I'm resurrecting this post one last time!  Unfortunately my husband passed two years ago with me still unable to find his biological grandfather.
Everything previously posted still stands as far as i am able to ascertain.
The only new information comes from the 1921 census.
Henry Pearce states 38 years (exactly) born Worcester.
The address and all the other information is correct.
Saying born Worcester ties in with his sons saying they visited his landladies in the Vale of Evesham.
So, trying to find him prior to 1905 when I believe he arrived in Derby.
If anyone has any suggestions I would be most grateful.
Welly

Sorry forgot to add
The George Henry Pearce 4 Back 315 Pershore Road Selly Park Worcester 1900/1 isn't the right one. He is still there 1931/6
