Gift From America –Jan 1948
On the occasion of the wedding of Princess Elizabeth to the Duke of Edinburgh a Mrs Frederick Pleasants of Upper Montclair, New Jerseys sent a quantity of food parcels as a token of the strong ties between our two nations.  A widow in my home village was selected to receive one of these gifts.  Can anyone tell me anything about Mrs Pleasants
Thanks in advance
anything and everything to do with the village of Brithdir, near New Tredegar in Gwent.

I think she was Blanche Rhoades Pleasants.

1910, 1920, & 1930 census -

She appeared to make many overseas trips.

This appears to be Frederick and Blanche's son Frederick - https://www.monumentsmenfoundation.org/the-heroes/the-monuments-men/pleasants-frederick-r.  Sounds like an interesting man!

This seems to be Virginia's husband Sigfrid - http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?r103:S29AP3-861:  Quite a family!
