So - what does the full newspaper write up say? What is the "3rd" that is in the summary on BNA?

Two words = marriage certificate!

That would give valuable information, ages, witnesses, occupations etc to hopefully pin down the right family.

which George died in East Dereham

The one who died in East Dereham in 1860 was aged 72 and "late of this city" - presumably Norwich.

(Norfolk News 6 October 1860).

Yes, but his son died 1862, aged 49, and also had at least one daughter named Elizabeth.
I think the son died in Yarmouth, but am not yet sure.

The older George's Elizabeth was b1817 in Ipswich, and (according to the data I have so far) is the best candidate for the bride.

However, my only data points for here are baptism (1817-08-17), 1841 census (Class: HO107; Piece: 790; Folio: 19; Page: 31), and the marriage.

Finding her census data for 1851 and 1861 is high on my list of ambitions.

Oh "rats".

A brother of Elizabeth b1817, James-Hovill Womack, b1815, Ipswich married a Mary Ann Monsey, b1816, Fleggburgh.

They were married in Fleggburgh, 1848, and subsequently lived in Norwich. Make a note of "Fleggburgh".

Looking for pre1864 Elizabeth Womack BMD's (in FreeBMD), in Norfolk, there are only 15, mainly in Depwade and Guiltcross district (North Lopham is Womack-central!!).

Eliminating Depwade and GuiltCross:

Deaths   Jun   1842   WOMACK   Eliza      E.& W.Flegg   1   13   87
Deaths   Jun   1848   Womack   Elizabeth      Norwich   0   13   197
Marriages   Dec   1848   WOMACK   Elizabeth      Mutford &c.   1   13   1195
Deaths   Jun   1850   WOMACK   Elizabeth Eliza      Norwich   0   13   218
Births   Jun   1856   WOMACK   Elizabeth      Norwich   0   4b   155

The 1848 death is George Senior's (1790-1860) Wife.
The 1850 death I believe to be George Junior's (1813-1862) daughter, born 1844.
The 1856 birth is the daughter of James-Hovill Womack and Mary Ann Monsey (aforesaid).

Which leaves:
Deaths   Jun   1842   WOMACK   Eliza      E.& W.Flegg   1   13   87
Marriages   Dec   1848   WOMACK   Elizabeth      Mutford &c.   1   13   1195

Mutford is "over Yarmouth way", and there are Womack's there, so I think this one may be independent.

But Fleggburgh. I wonder if Eliza d1842 is Elizabeth b1817, alongside her brother, James-Hovill, visiting/staying with his in-laws to be?

(I also have no 1841 census for James-Hovill, although Elizabeth b1817 was working at a large department store on Norwich Market place).

Good news (for both me and Elizabeth b1817); SHE ATEN'T DED (with apologies to Terry Pratchett)

I do dearly love the BNA; (another £9.25 saved :) )

From Norfolk Chronicle - Saturday 28 May 1842, p3

Last week, Eliza Womack, aged 21, daughter of William Womack, Esq. of Somerton.

From Wikipedia;

Somerton is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It comprises the twin villages of East Somerton and West Somerton and is situated some 14 km (8.7 mi) north of the town of Great Yarmouth, 35 km (22 mi) north-east of the city of Norwich, and 2 km (1.2 mi) from the sea.

I'd assumed that the George Womack who died in East Dereham, aged 72 in 1860, was the retired cabinet maker living in Dereham Road, Heigham in 1851, aged 61 born Cambridge. But his wife Elizabeth was with him. Have I got the wrong George?  Or did he remarry?

EDIT - have now seen the 1848 death announcement re the cabinet maker's wife Elizabeth.

Baby Steps; I've found James [Hovill] Womack in 1841, working as a Chair Maker, living in Westwick St, Norwich.

Two words = marriage certificate!

That would give valuable information, ages, witnesses, occupations etc to hopefully pin down the right family.

marriage cert - both of full age. William Stevens is gentleman as his father Thomas Stevens and Elizabeth's father George. Witnesses David gauge Thorn and Caroline Strech. Marriage by licence. Addresses bride and groom just give house number and street, 65 Sutherland st (him) and 37 Hill st (her), presumably in parish of St George HS

added
The Only Caroline Strech I can find died as a 1 year old, but a lot of Caroline Stretch. You would have thought she'd have spelt her own name right (all parties signed)
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
