There is a newspaper report of 1849, that poor William Chancellor suffered a very serious assault- teeth knocked out and head injuries. His assailant was charged.

I never really think of looking in them places...my family are all potters and miners. These Blacksmiths are a bit of celebrity types  :) :). But I will look at that.

I found Ann on the next page in the 1861 census... shows what another pair of eyes will spot. Also the name Meharane... in 1841 if you look closely is Abraham, which ties in nicely.

I think I have enough to move on now, I shall do some certificate ordering to certify, still not found william in 1871 but he will turn up I m sure.

Thank you all ever so much. I will be back I m sure, but I have learnt something....
