The North Perthshire Family History Group at Moulin have a transcription of a Moulin census for 1820.  Where were the family by that time?

Checked the 1820 transcript mentioned by Throth, and there is no Peter Ferguson or Ann McLaggan.

Also looked at a transcript of the 1806 Population of Moulin (original at the National Records of Scotland), and there is no Peter Fergus(s)on. There is, however, a farmer called Thomas Ferguson at Tomban, along with his wife Ann McLaggan, and children John, Alexander & Margaret Ferguson, and a son called Peter Farquharson. No ages given, and I am wondering if the latter has been wrongly transcribed and should be Ferguson too?

Thank you for your help, Throth and Isabel.
I had Peter's parents names from his death record
Peter Ferguson ( Saw Miller) died 3 Oct 1869 aged 64.
Father Peter Ferguson ( Saw Miller) deceased
Mother Ann Ferguson ( MS McLagan) deceased
1841 Census he was born Perthshire and was living at Ballenling of Dunfallady ( Occ: Farmer)
1851 Census he was born in Moulin, lived at 30 Dunkfeld Rd, Bankfoot ( Occ: Innkeeper)
1861 Census he was born in Montin, lived at 60 Albert St, Dundee ( occ Sawyer) **
I am not familiar with Scotland or Perthshire.... again thanks
** I have accessed the 1861 Census on Scotlands People and the birthplace is Moulin (transcription error)

Tomban was really hinterland farming.  North-east of Moulin in Glen Brerachan.  Named on Stobie's map (link below), but just shown as ruins on the 1st O.S. map of Perthshire 1867. Aerial survey shows that ruins still exist in that area.

1841 census address is probably Balinluig of Dunfallandy, on the other side of the river Garry from Pitlochry.

If you ancestor died at Albert Street, Dundee, he's probably buried in the Eastern Necropolis on the Arbroath Road.  There may be a memorial stone.  Might be worth checking the Dundee records to see who else was buried in the lair.

1806 ....and a son called Peter Farquharson. No ages given, and I am wondering if the latter has been wrongly transcribed and should be Ferguson too?

Checked this today, and he is actually listed as Patrick Ferguson.
