What is puzzling  to me is that that neither the Van Lander or Beuselinck families were picked up in the 1921 census, there does not appear to be a death registration for Victor Van Lander and that Archie and Clementina were never registered to vote. It is almost like they never existed.

They certainly are elusive. Very well concealed if they are in Canada in 1921.

I wonder if Archie and Clementina are not on the voter's list b/c they were not Canadian citizens?

That is certainly a possibility. I really never thought of them not being Canadian citizens.

I had a look at the Canada Archives site to see if I could find Victor and Clementina an Lauder/Lander coming to Canada but did not see them. According to son Peter death cert in 1935 he had been in Canada 23 yrs which would be abt 1912

There is an intriguing Canduyt family you might look at in the 1921 census. Parents Victor and Clementine, daughter Mary (age differs from the marriage reg), other children with unusual names. In Kent County, arrived 1913. Born in Belgium. Grasping at straws, really, but you never know.

I like the looks of that one!

There's a Detroit Border Crossing in 1922 for a Victor Von Landuyt-contact is wife Clementine.

Can't really read it,though. New specs needed!

I agree. Census and border crossing both look very good. Son Pich could be the Peter who was born 1906  and died 1935.
