Date of photo please
« on: Wednesday 27 April 16 10:04 BST (UK) »
Please can you date this photo. I think its either 1904 or 1926. The clothing could be a family heirloom so cannot be relied on to date.

Thanks

Children are hard to date at the best of times but I would guess at 1926.

Sorry I can't help with the date, but I have turned the photo to make it easier to look at.

For some reason this looks to me like a little boy.

By 1926 hadn't people stopped dressing both boys and girls in the same clothing (as they might have done in 1904)?

I may be wrong, but I have the impression if this was 1926 it might show more masculine clothing?
I also may be wrong that it's a boy!  ;)

Yes I agree it's a boy Igor but the OP has commented that the dress could be a heirloom.

Thank you all so far. The photo is a boy but I cannot decide if it is
my grandfather (born 1903)
Or my father (born 1925).

From the 'dress' I thought it may be 1903/4 but thought you may know from the shape of the card and the backing print.

Thanks Jane

Just making the back of the card marginally more readable.
