3.5 H P Triumph Motor Cycle 1916

On Easter Monday 1916 Richard O'Carroll left the Bricklayers Union on his motorcycle which was supplied to him as General Secretary and proceeded to Camden St or Jacob's biscuit factory where he reportedly left the motorcycle and took part in the rising, he was shot and died later in hospital.

the following Property Loss claim describes the motorcycle and Gloria sidecar(wicker)the receipt for it ,its reg RI 2223,and a repair docket from 1913.
The motorcyle was reportedly taken by Col Colthurst and taken to Portobello Bks and never seen again.

That's really interesting dathai - would love to know what happened to the bike while hating the thought of a "wicker" side car!

I suppose motorbikes moved at a more stately pace in those days!
And anything that might tangle with them too.

(I learned to drive a Morris Minor in the early 1960s . . one day in a rush of adrenaline, I got it up to 52 mph! Poor thing didn't know what had happened to it.)

By  Feb 1923 Francis Alexander Wallen had moved to 11 ,12 and 13 St Andrew's St where he filed a compensation claim due to damage caused to his premises by an explosion at
near neighbour's premises 2 doors away Captain Sean McGarry

In 1922 Sean McGarry's house at 37 Philipsburgh Ave was set on fire by irregular forces.
In Feb1923 his premises at 14 St Andrews St were destroyed by a land mine explosion by persons unknown.
