With Newton Abbot in mind, could "Bearley" be a local dialect pronunciation of Buckfastleigh?

Possibly -- but surely a newspaper advert (as I suggested earlier) is ordered in writing, by letter?

There were agencies who supplied information to regional newspapers. You can see news reports in newspapers in various parts of the country with the same or similar wording.

Hi
There is a train service between Bearley  and Cranbrook (Devon).    So it looks like there is a railroad station called Bearley currently.
The only Bearley station I can find is in Warwickshire
Malmesbury- Bishop.
Gloucestershire-Bishop,Hicks,Higgs,Hill,Hooper,Hopkins,Pitcher,Robertson,Stinton,Terret,Woodruff.
Worcestershire-Stinton.
Devon- Borrough or Burrow.

If by "she" you mean Elizabeth Womack, b1817, that would be very valuable to me; do you have a census ref?

This 1871 census entry caught my eye, Wellington being very close to Devon:

18 Fairford Grove, Lambeth

William Stevens  38 lodger - traveller for brewer - Wellington, Somerset
Elizabeth Stevens 33 wife - born Norwich

Wow - that record has lots of matches to the people we want, but the matches are a bit approximate;  Wellington is "not quite" Devon, Norwich is not quite Ipswich (although she lived in Norwich for a long time), and  her DOB of 1838 is a bit of a way from 1817 (her age should be 54, not 33, and it clearly says 33).

I'll add it to the "being considered" list.
