Great! Based on the threat it looks like you all have found Alexander's parents. And it looks like they were Irish? How funny I always was told that we were Scottish. I know Glass is a Scottish clan/sept of the Stuart of Bute clan. Any luck beyond that? I am interested in doing more research.

George and James were born in Ireland and well as several other siblings.
I was also told we were Scottish and it could still be that Alexander's parents were Scots living in Ireland.
I have been researching with the great granddaughter of Rosina Glass sister of George and James. We have gotten as far as Alexander's parents and some of his siblings.

Rosina Glass married George Barclay, and moved to Kilburnie Scotland. Rosina was my great paternal grandmother. She died in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada in 1969. My Father was a son of John, the oldest of 8 boys and one daughter. Except there was a much older son named Robert, I am guessing that she had him before she married George.
