Enrolled Pensioner Guards to Western Australia 1850-1868
« on: Wednesday 11 May 16 02:15 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

I am trying to find some information on the above military pensioners who came as guards on convict ships to Australia.  I am particularly interested in the East India Company which I am assuming was a regiment or perhaps a private Army?   The guard I am looking for is Patrick Carroll who was born in 1810 in Ireland and is said to have served in the E.I.C. and had two fingers shot off while in India.

Any help gratefully received.

Andcarred,

I have just looked on a tree in Ancestry and parents for Patrick are diff to the ones that I found on the site
http://www.virtalvolunteering.com.au/volunteer/scripto/transcribe/311/14092
I have seen a mistake before on the site..so if you don't know his parents..you will need to double check as to who his parents were.

Cheers
