Reckon so. Born 1861 = aged 39 in 1900.

Interesting that Catherine recorded her father as Charles, as Alfred did?

And Charles as the Father on Alfreds marriage certificate? Don't know what happened or why.

We have the marriage of Sgt John Rogers (12th Lancers) and Jane Anne Keily in Bangalore in 1854.

John Rogers enlisted in the 12th Lancers on 30 June 1847 at Heston. Aged 18, born Windsor circa 1828/9. The 12 Lancers's records show that he volunteered to the Kings Dragoon Guards in February 1860

Indian Mutiny Medal:

First child Jane Anne was born 18 June 1855 in Bangalore http://www.9th12thlancersmuseum.org/entity/14208-rogers-john

We've already found the baptisms of the other children including Alfred in 1863.

Two of the children (Alfred and Catherine) name their father as Charles Rogers in their marriage records. So perhaps he was known as Charles.

It appears that John Rogers' army papers have not survived - to be expected as he died in service.
