I'm still seeing things for free, so I'm not sure why you can't....

Also I should point out that you can't get the 1939 register for free, only the "free preview" page like before. I haven't tried military or travel records yet, or newspapers. Census transcriptions are free but you can't see the images.

When I tried again they said they were "too busy", and search function couldn't be used anyway!!
