OK. Had another look at it after a little break. The parish starts with either a B or W I think, and is possibly misspelt.
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Pine/Pyne, Dowdeswell, Kempster, Sando/Sandoe/Sandow, Nancarrow, Hounslow, Youatt, Richardson, Jarmyn, Oxlade, Coad, Kelsey, Crampton, Lindner, Pittaway, and too many others to name.
Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.

Definitely a 'B' I scrolled back a few pages in the register to a record of a Susanna Brooks, and it is as clear as day.

Still no idea though ;D

Mind you, it might not be a parish, but just a place name within a parish.

Words were spelt phonetically then, plus a Yorkshire dialect,  and 'Eee by Gum' I've still no idea what it is  ;D

True, I've been looking at all sorts of places but nothing jumps out

EDIT: HELLERSLEY surname found a few of them in Yorkshire, but I've tried editing the picture and it looks more like HOLLINGSBY

I had google maps down to 500 metres, and still couldn't see anything. I thought Broad- or Brod- something.

We're not far off with name I don't think.
Have you looked for Yorkshire wills with the names we've come up with?
It might be a long shot, but if you find a combination of the name with a place that looks like the record, we might have it.

Here bookmark this, old West Yorkshire placenames and their modern translations. I'm sure I will use it again.

Still not seeing anything

Will have a look at Wills  :)

Hello Claire and pinefamily

Wow you two make a great research team, I'm really amazed about how much you've managed to find out and figure out.  There are some really kind and helpful people on here and you are two of them.   ;D

If there's anything I can do to help either of you both then please let me know and I'll do my best  :)

Do you think Hollingsby could be the surname?

I love the old map, will look at that closer later on.  Just going to have something to eat.

Hope you both have a lovely weekend

Heidi
