Big brick wall here. My gggg grandfather Alexander Campbell dob ~1787 came to Charleston SC with mother Nancy McCausland Campbell from Scotland ~1803. I have found no documents supporting this. I do not know the closest/ most likely port of departure from Scotland during that time period. I know Alexander married Jane Collie (Caulie) in Charleston SC and they migrated via TN and KY to settle in Illinois. I do not have any documents supporting their marriage. I have also heard Alexander was in War 1812. That too is unverified. I have searched Ancestry, Family Search, Cindys List, and various places w/o luck. I am aware the possibility, due to the time period, these records might be lost. Any ideas? Thanks all...
