Hi Stanmapstone .I have checked 1871 census and it clearly states the family were living in Poole Village as were five other families. The link you sent me is great .I am taking a pre -tour of Poole before my visit .L

The enumerator has written Poole Village, but the small group of houses are more properly a Hamlet. At that time Poole was a township in the parish of St. Mary, Acton. In 1873 Worleston St. Oswald was founded as the district church for the townships of Aston-juxta-Mondrum, Cholmondeston, Poole, and Worleston.
