Many thanks for that, Trish!  :) :)
It seems that only Henry, aged 11 in 1871, was the son of William and Ann - the other children were from Ann's first two marriages, (Caroline Buxton and Elizabeth Adlington) and William's first marriage (Eliza, Thomas and Elizabeth in 1861).  When Ann married Jethro Adlington, they also had children from his first marriage living with them!  Somewhat confusing.   Henry was the father of Horace Reginald who is connected to the family I'm researching.
Thanks for sharing,

William and Ann Leivers had another child at Basford: Joseph, bapt 3.1.1859; this confirms William's occupation as FWK.

:) Great work, Annie65115 - I didn't have Joseph.  In 1881, William is living in Belper with his step-daughter, Elizabeth Adlington (he 67, she 30).  In 1861, his occupation is a grocer/gardener, and in 1881, he gives 'former gardener' as his occupation, whereas in the '51 and '71 census, he's a framework knitter.  It seems he was happier to have been a gardener!

Many thanks for your time,
X Frosty
