1881 Census Lookup For Joseph GOSLING Born WALSALL, Please COMPLETED

Please can someone with better lookup skills than I, have a look in the 1881 census for Joseph GOSLING born 1872, Walsall, Staffordshire, England.

I can find him in the 1891, 1901 and 1911 censuses, but I'm blowed if I can find him in the 1881

I am wondering about this one:

Richard Dorking 20 coal miner bn Gailey
Anne 19 wife bn Walsall
William 6mths son bn Cannock
Joseph 8 brother in law bn Walsall

Next door are a Francis and Mary Gosling

If Joseph was Richard's brother in law, you  wouldnt expect them to have the same surname.
I see there is a 9yr old Ann Gosling bn Walsall in 1871, parents Francis and Sarah, Dad a miner.
But I cant see a marriage for Richard Dorking to anyone, yet alone an Ann(e) Gosling!

Aha - I see in 1891 he is lodging with Richard DAWKINS in Huntingdom Terrace , Cannock, (same address as 1881 I found, sorry I didn't give road name before) who has 10 yr old son William but wife is now Amy.

So, he was misrecorded with a ditto under Dorking in 1881!
