The Caritas Diocese of Salford (formerly Catholic Children's Rescue Society) holds some (incomplete) records from 1940 - 1984 St Teresa's Mother and Baby home, Broom Lane, Salford.

Hi,

As Stan has said, records from this period are still held by Caritas Diocese of Salford which is the social service umbrella for the diocese.

You should write to -

Caritas Diocese of Salford
Cathedral Centre
3 Ford Street
SALFORD      M3 6DP

There may be data protection issues for living persons, so you should explain carefully your query and your reasons for it ( - not for us to know).

Hope this helps

My grandmother Patricia Flaherty was sent here in 1950's from Ireland to have a little girl who she named Imelda. Imelda was born 1950's. I recieved her birth certificate yesterday after being told about her existence. My Dad her brother was also adopted two years later. We would love to find her if anyone can help please x

:)I am looking for anyone who would have been in St Teresa's Mother and Baby Home Broom Lane Salford in 1960's and would have known a Mary P O from Ireland who gave birth to a baby girl (me) in Hope Hospital on 1960's. I remained in the home until Oct 1962 when I was adopted. Thanks in advance. FM
