Need help with Warren family
« on: Saturday 25 June 16 07:36 BST (UK) »
Hi

The info I have is George Edward Warren married Mary Tennick in 1943 Durham Central.

There are 2 George Edward Warren's born in Co Durham; 1921 Gateshead with mother Blacklock & 1924 Weardale mother Sifflette (Siffleet).  I have been able to follow the Sifleet connection but do not think this is the correct family.
The Blacklock / Warren I have only been able to find a sibling Jessie and can't find who the parents were.  Can anybody help?

Many thanks
Carol

When did George die?   Is that what gives you 1921 as a birth date?   You really need to look at the details on the marriage certificate to get solid information.  That probably means buying it.

Can't find any other information for George, not even a death.
1921 birth is coming from BMD.  His son is still alive but not able to communicate.
Thought i'd try the members before I had to buy the certificate!

Thanks

Hi,
He might not have been born in the Durham area.

Have followed the death in 1984 as a possible and will definetley now have to buy the 1943 BMD marriage certificate.

Many thanks for your help.

Believe I have identified George Edward Warren's family and if you're getting his marriage this will confirm it (or not, of course).

From the birthdate given on the death record he was born 11 May 1914 - the relevant birth entry shows his birth reg'd June qtr. 1914 Edmonton (mmn Deards).

Took a while to trace his parents marriage as his mother was a widow and so was not as a Deards! Plus his father married as George W and George W E.

His parents were George W E Warren and Mabel Deards.

George William E Warren was born 2/11/1892 in Woking, Surrey, son of George William Warren and Lucy Lawrance who married 1891 (reg'd Dec.qtr.1891 Guildford).

Mabel Deards was born 27/9/1883 (some 9 years older than her husband) Harlow, Essex, daughter of Ambrose Deards and Annie Thurgood who married 1881 (reg'd Sept.1881 Epping)

Mabel married an Arthur Jones bc.1888 on 5/9/1908 St. James, Holloway, London but just a year later found herself a widow (death reg'd Dec.1909 Islington).

Free index to 1911 census shows a likely entry for her in Woking which is no doubt how she came to meet her 2nd husband.

George W. Warren married Mabel Jones Mar.qtr.1912 Bishops Stortford

A daughter Lucy A.M. was reg'd Sept.1912 Edmonton - mmn Deards
Son George E. (as already mentioned above) - reg'd June qtr.1914 Edmonton - mmn Deards

Family then move to Yorkshire and 5 more children were born between 1916 and 1927 - reg'd Rotherham - all with mmn Deards.

George W E Warren death - bc.1893, d.June 1963 Rother Valley, Yorks.
Mabel Warren death - bc.1884, d. June 1965 Don Valley, Yorks.

So, George Edward Warren marries in Durham, was born in Edmonton, London shortly before he parents moved to Yorkshire, his father was born in Woking, Surrey and his mother in Harlow, Essex.

Hopefully the marriage certificate will show I have got his father correct and identified the right family.
