BOYD MCNEILLY CRORY MATIER FERGUSON CHAMBERS FAMILIES IN KILKEEL
« on: Saturday 25 June 16 23:47 BST (UK) »
I am researching my Boyd Family in Kilkeel. I have recently found David Boyd Linen Merchant of Kilkeel b. 1752 d. 1825 is my GGG Grandfather.

David married Agnes McNeilly sometime around 1800 and they had children Robert b. 1804, Sarah b. 1812, John b. 1817 and William b. 1821.

While in Newry last year I saw records from Hugh Irvine's (dec) collection in Bagnals Castle that connected us with other families. These records showed Hugh had seen copies of Indentures concerning David Boyd and his children listed below, that were in the possession of the Chambers and or Ferguson family in Kilkeel.

I would like to make contact with anyone who is connected with any of these families so I can continue to understand and grow our family in Kilkeel.

thankyou Babzi

If this is the Sarah Boyd, daughter of David, mentioned in the original post then she was about 42 years old in 1854-

the family has several mentions as do the other names listed in Ros Davies Co Down website   Simply search the Boyd. using Kilkeel in your document search to sweep up manyhttp://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rosdavies/SURNAMES/B/BoydAJ.ht

Sorry cant help on the family papers, presuming you have PRONI resources
I don’t know if the Crossle papers are relevant to you.they are one of several in http://www.bagenalscastle.com/ancestry/ they contain eg
Crossle Papers
First name   Surname   Reference   Date   Address   Type of document   Premises concerned   Comment
John   Boyd   103   1826   Newry   Deed of trust
John   Boyd   105   1827      Assignment of annuity
Andrew   Boyd   7   1752   Newry   Lease   Boat St, Newry

Hutcheson   Boyd   275   1872   Newry   Conveyance   Sheepbridge and Carnmeen , County Down
Boyd   326         Genealogical notes

I browsed
1796 Kilkeel Flax growers of Ireland
http://www.failteromhat.com/flax/down.php
 James M'Neely Kilkeel  Down
so Agnes McNeilly might just be the daughter who m David Boyd?

Agnes Boyd the widow is listed in
http://www.irishgenealogyhub.com/down/tithe-applotment-books/kilkeel-parish.php#.V2-QT1eoc5Q
Boyd, Adam   Townland: Ballykeel Year: 1830

McNeilly, Richard   Townland: Moneydaraghbeg Year: 1830
McNeilly, Robert   Townland: Moneydaraghbeg Year: 1830
roughly Glassdrummond ie Glasdrumman is close to the ne corner of the parish half way sw is Ballykeel onwards to sw corner inc Benagh mullartown inc annalong is closer to to ne corner. ballykeel is two townlandsne of KIlkeel itself

there are family tree manuscripts for most of your surnames  that exist in the Blackwood collection, Linenhall Library, however at first sight of an incomplete index there is no mention of Kilkeel.
