I am an Australian descendant of an Elizabeth Head baptised at St Mary Newington London on 12 May 1771 to William Head and Phillis. My Elizabeth had a brother John Trangmore Head baptised 24 May 1768 At St Mary Lambeth.
Because of John's middle name I suspected that the father William Head may have been connected to the marriage of Henry Head and Mary Trangmere in West Dean, Sussex, on 25 Aug 1734.
I have come across a number of family trees that indeed do have a William Head baptised in Arlington parish in 1734 or 1735 to that couple.
Unfortunately Arlington parish registers for that period don't appear to be online (I've checked Ancestry, findmypast, FreeReg, Sussex OPC and FamilySearch). I was wondering if anyone has access to them and can tell me whether there is in fact a baptism of a William to a Henry Head & Mary in Arlington in 1734 or 1735.
