I have been searching for any death records / obituaries for Elizabeth Scheidecker's children to see if there would be a reference to their mother's maiden name.

Elizabeth "Betty" Scheidecker - born 1929
Leo Scheidecker, Jr - born 1933
Annette Scheidecker - born 1936

Below is the obit for Leo. This verifies that his wife Elizabeth's maiden was "Slater".

Seeking information on Elizabeth Slater

Catherine E. Slater-Korn (1890 to ?)

Catherine died 5 Jan. 1958 in Bridgeton, New Jersey. She was buried at Fernwood Cemetery.

I assume this is the Fernwood Cemetery mentioned: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=99976

Below is the obit for George W. Slater's 2nd wife Amanda. This also verifies Elizabeth Slater  was married to Leo Scheidecker.

I may have some information that might help you. I am looking for any info about an Antoinette Rapp that was married to Leo Scheidecker in Mulhouse about 1893.

Hello solstice48,

I wish I could be of help to you but I really don't have any information about Antoinette Rapp.  I didn't even know that she was married to Leo Scheidecker.  Since there are at least three different Leo Scheideckers in my tree (grandfather, father, son) I am not sure who she would be married to.

This branch of my family is rather distant from my primary line.  I am interested to learn anything that might shed some light on it.

Actually Rapp was a relative of Leo Scheidecker who was married to Elizabeth. If you're looking for info on the Slater side let me know I might have something that will help.

I would welcome any new information or insights you have about the Slater side of the family.  I am actually a Slater.  This is the breakdown of the my Slater line as it relates to Elizabeth Slater (this was also the name of my grandmother - but a different Elizabeth).

William Slater (4th great grandfather)
Charles Slater (3rd great grandfather)

Charles had three sons - Conrad, William, and George Slater (William was my gggrandfather)

George Slater (my ggg uncle) was married twice - first to Catharine Hartzman, later to Amanda Beck-Kenngott.

A daughter of his first marriage - Elizabeth Slater, married Leo Schiedecker.

I would be willing to share access to my family tree on ancestry.com.  If you send me your email address I will send you a private invite through the ancestry system.

I look forward to hearing from you again.  Thank you for reaching out Walt.

Jeff
