William Bingham marraige
« on: Monday 11 July 16 15:38 BST (UK) »
I am trying to locate any details on William Bingham.  I know he was born in Ireland c.1826, was married in Scotland and then lived, until death in 1917, in Birkenhead.  The 1911 census records Co Down as his birthplace.

The Irish forum recommends finding his marriage details.  I do know that he was married to a Catherine Anderson on 14 October 1857 in Blythswood.  Is it possible to apply for a copy of his marriage cert to find out parents details?

Apologies for troubling you all but I only have experience in English records.

He was a corn merchant in later life but I don't think he is one of yours.

Thanks anyway

The newspaper notices of the marriage read something along these lines. This one from the Paisley Herald and Renfrewshire Advertiser on 17 October:

At 43 Scott Street Glasgow, on the 14th inst., by Rev. Dr King, William Bingham Esq., merchant, Liverpool to Catherine, youngest daughter of David Anderson Esq, Manufacturer.

Likely this entry for Catherine, from other's research on this line https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FMSK-JZZ  Just for background here https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VBNG-QW7, the family in 1871.

Once you have verified the details on the marriage cert for William, have a look at this info here www.ancestry.co.uk/genealogy/records/thomas-bigham_176845605 for details on Thomas Bingham and Agnes Martin, parents (t.b.c.) of William Bingham.
