Hi Scatty

Well I Googled - got the Archive Photographs -  plugged in Fort Regent - it did the same thing !
Went to the other Societe Jersaise site - plugged in Fort Regent - got the first page thumbnails - but then it wouldn't let me go any further! :P

Hi Annie,
The press article said this would be of great interest to worldwide researchers so I think this is may be a glitch. I will give them a call and try to find out the situation.

Hang in there

Annie,
Here is all I know about my ancestor and links to the Channel Islands - it's actually Guernsey once I looked up the info properly...

Thomas Fagan b c 1807 - father Thomas Fagan

Thomas Fagan 1841 census Wrexham b 1807 Foreign Parts
Thomas Fagan 1861 census Wrexham b 1805 Frane
Thomas Fagan 1871 census Wrexham b 1807 Guernsey, CI
Can't seem to find him in 1881 so maybe he had died by then - he would have been into his 70s anyway.

All I know about him was that his father, also Thoams Fagan was a Labourer (from his marriage certificate to his second wife in 1866, also in Wrexham).

Just wondering if the family went out there to work and Thomas was born there.  I can't see that the family origninated from CI at this stage but am not ruling it out.

Thomas b 1807 had one son that I am aware of in 1838, also born in Wrexham - so he was out of CI at least from 1838 onwards.  His wife was also from Wrexham.

Not much to go on but am hoping I can find some birth record of him.
