YOUR FREE BANNER ADVERT
Did you know that you can have a free banner advert here on RootsChat?

To qualify you need:

• To be based in the British Isles
• To not be a merchant in any "affiliate" scheme (it's ok if you are an 'affiliate')
• To offer services or products of value to local or family history
• The banner must be accurate and not misleading
• To place a link to RootsChat.com on your site

The slightly technical bit:

• Your banner should have dimensions of 468 x 60
• It should be located on the webspace that it links to
• The image should be a .gif or .jpg .jpeg format
• The filesize of the banner must be no greater than 13 Kb

More people become aware of your site, and also all of us will have more interesting and useful banners to look at.

"How do I know how well our banner is doing?"
All free banners have an equal chance of being displayed as each other. One of these free banners will be displayed for every six sponsor banners. We will give you your own username and password for accessing the control panel for your banner, this will tell you the number of impressions that your banner has made, together with the number of clicks that have been made to your site. You can also set it up to send you emails with the information automatically if you wish.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR FREE BANNER

We forgot to mention one vital thing - how to submit your free banner to be included !

Simply email us (webmaster@rootschat.co.uk) with the following information:

Your username on RootsChat
The URL (web link) to where your banner is
The URL (web link) of what page you want opened if somebody clicks on your banner

We will then get back in contact with you and give you the login details so that you can track the effectiveness of your own banner.

If all goes well, you will then see your free banner mixed in with all the other banners at the bottom of each RootsChat page!

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FREE BANNERS ARE PRIMARILY INTENDED FOR COMPANIES AND PERSONS WHO PROVIDE  SERVICES, INFORMATION AND PRODUCTS IN CONNECTION WITH LOCAL HISTORY AND FAMILY HISTORY.
