Having spent some time comparing maps I'm pretty well convinced that the buildings now known as West Kyloe are where Bitchwood Hall was situated. http://maps.nls.uk/view/102346230#zoom=6&lat=5351&lon=9794&layers=BT

I couldn't help interfering:

This might help when you are out and about.  :)
There are other maps on the pull down menu top left which you can choose if you wish.

Yes, that,s what I thought and where I will be looking tomorrow. I pass West Kyloe regularly and from what I remember that part is a row of cottages so it may be that Bitchwood was demolished when they were built. We,ll see!

Listing on Historic England indicates an 'old farmhouse dated 1697 largely altered C19'

Another listing of the Stable and Granary states 'Dated on lintel GBG but probably older. 1830 For Grey family https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1042285

The date. Of 1697 sounds right although the Grey family lived there from earlier. Can,t wait to see it!

:D that's not bad going, considering that you only posted the original enquiry some 24 hours ago!

Sometimes the very act of asking info from others  helps you clarify the path to finding the answer! Here is a photo of the doorway of the original Bitchwood Hall, kindly shown to me by the owner today, who was unaware of its original name.  It suffered a fire about 50 years ago and has not been lived in since. A modern house now stands next to it. If you look carefully at the lintel you can see the date of 1697. The owner thought the doorway/lintel has been moved there from its original position.

Thanks to everyone for their help.
