Census Record - Name of Road
« on: Friday 12 August 16 14:59 BST (UK) »
I'm struggling to figure out what the name of the road is. To me, it looks like 'Celery Lane', which is odd, but anyway, I search and searched but found nothing. Can anyone else see a possible alternative?

Many thanks! :)

Very clearly "Celery Lane".  :)

It may be a tiny lane which was not marked on maps then or now. You can look at the neighbours on the census (you might need to trawl through several pages)  to see if you can find any roads which still exist today to give you an idea where is might have been.

Check the enumerator's route on page one of the census which should also help find out where it is, or used to be.

I should have clarified this is from the Census Record in Arnold, Nottinghamshire.

I agree with Celery Lane.  Where is it?

The jpeg starts with NTT - which indicates Nottinghamshire ;D
Then HO107 - which indicates either 1841 or 1852 census.

Perhaps a (very) bad spelling of Colliery Lane? ???

Celery Lane also appears on the 1871 census for Arnold. Only one household there. On either side of the relevant entry is Cross Lane.
