It will be interesting to see what the transcription says, however as I 'm sure you know ... death certs are are only as accurate as the person providing the information knows. Hopefully it will include some detail that will allow you to make a decision either way.  ;)

VERY excited all!  I received the transcript of Athol (Bill) Adams tonight and it is indeed our man!

Basically it says he was a Salesman - Check
Born Tumut, NSW - Check
Father John Adams, Farmer - Check
Mother Blanche (Charlotte, although of course that is his Grandmother and his mother is actually Grace)
Age 75 yrs (he was only 62) - a huge difference but obviously he didn't age well?

Says he is Not Married and no children listed.

In other comments says also known as 'Frederick Allan Adams" meaning that the 'wife' May who is listed in his death notice was indeed May Asquith as in her mother's death notice it refers to 'son-in-law' Fred.

If Mavis and Arnold (names from the Death Notice in the paper) were indeed his children that makes 5 children all together.

My next job will be to try and track any descendants of his children and grandchildren.  Although it might be a delicate subject so we'll see.

That's more than likely especially with everyone after him for maintenance :P

The puzzling thing is the age difference - obviously he didn't age well - unlike his daughter who at 95 looks 20 years younger!

Vertebra is correct and shouldn't have (sic) after it.

Vertebra is singular and vertebrae is plural. He only fractured the one that being the 6th.

As for the age difference, perhaps someone just assumed he was of a similar age to his "siblings"
(aunts and uncles).
