Has anyone heard of Glenbarrick, Monaghan?
« on: Sunday 21 August 16 22:21 BST (UK) »
William Bartley was listed as a gentleman from Glenbarrick, Monaghan, when he married Elizabeth White in April of 1835. Their son George Bartley was listed as a farmer in Glenbarrick, Monaghan in his mother's will settlement in 1868. I've did internet searches but I came up without any results.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thank you!

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

You've already seen this-
Letters of Administration (with the Will annexed) of the personal estate of Elizabeth Bartley calling herself Barckley late of Scarva County Down (Wife of William Bartley since deceased) deceased who died 11 February 1854 at same place were granted at Belfast to George Bartley of Glenbarrick (Rockcorry) County Monaghan Farmer Son (and Administrator of Elizabeth Bartley the Younger who was the sole Chattel Legatee) of deceased. (Limited Grant.)

Rockcorry town in Ematris civil parish (Cootehill Poor Law Union and Registration district)-

Thank you Aghadowey & Hallmark for your help. I was so busy trying to decipher the will that I missed the (Rockcorry) in the abstract. :-\ Two of George's sisters were living in Losset at when they were married, Sarah to Davis Thompson in 1870 & Margaret to William Hawe in 1869.
As Losset is close to Rockcorry it makes sense to me.
I notice that there is a subtownland of Losset named Bartley's Grove, so perhaps after their parents died they were staying with relatives.
Is there anyplace online that might have a history of Losset?
Thank you again for all of your kind help!
Judi
