Did you see KGArrad had found the burial you were wanting?

Perhaps his "wealth" was deemed to be his wife's.  Or maybe he gave it all away to children prior to death.

As far as I am aware, he had no issue.

The work he undertook on the language and people of Afghanistan is still cited in academic work today.

Thank you for that.

It is interesting to note that Henry was only one of eight Bombay infantry officers to receive the Northwest Frontier clasp.

He served with the Bombay Column in the Punjab, during the siege and surrender of Mooltan, the battle of Goojerat and the pursiut and surrender of the Sikh army.  Henry also served in the Field Force under Col. J. Bradshaw into the Eusoofaie country in December 1849, and was present at the capture and destruction of the villages in the Bazourah Valley on the 11th and 14th of that month.

Appreciate this is an old thread but I've just found a family link to Henry George Raverty through his mother Louisa Drown (she is a 4x great aunt). I was wondering if you knew any more about his father Peter Raverty?

I found the link through a reference to Col Henry Raverty amongst the mourners at his aunt Jemima Drowns funeral in her obit. Fascinating man!
