Thanks Svenja

I have searched under both names of bauer and mildenberger including the name of Lina's father and brother but have been unsuccessful.

Thanks again
Ali

Hi

You should search for the original baptism entries of Christian or Christoph Scheufler. Maybe they are online on archion (registration needed) or they are in the Landeskirchlichen Archiv which I mentionned above. The original baptism entries should contain more info, the profession of the father Johann Georg Scheufler and the names of the godfather and the godmother. Maybe there is also a marginal note regarding his marriage and/or his death.

I have been in to my local town to see if i could find anything further regarding the marriage records but i couldn't get any more than i have.

I wish i could just sit down and spend hours at it but i cant but as soon as i can i will get right to the information you have provided.

thank you so much

Allypallypalson

I think John Bauer(Bower) was my great grandfather and one of his sons - John Bower was my father's father.
My father was illegitimate. His mother Eleanor Burns had an affair with her brother in law(John Bower).
His wife was his aunt Mary Burns, my grandmother's sister.

They had a child - Ronald Bower.( My fathers half brother and cousin) My father and Ronnie were pork butchers in Newcastle.

Just received John and Mary's marriage certificate dated 1919. Both are shown as 21 years old. The address on this is 10 Bridge Street, Newcastle upon Tyne.  The same address as was listed on your post from the 1911 censor. I'm a bit confused over names, we have a John George and a George John, is this the same person? Dates of birth don't add up. John would have been born 1898. Your post shows  John George born 1895 and George John 1897.
I've found war records of a John George from Newcastle born 1895 with German parentage. Is this my grandfather?

You mention in your post that one of German John Bower's 10 children was your grandfather also.
Who was that?

Also, did you see the Newcastle Chronicle about butchers shops in Newcastle being ransacked in 1914. There is a picture of John Bower's Butchers shop on Westgate Road?

Thanks
Linda
