Celia King Lavenham
« on: Monday 05 September 16 14:21 BST (UK) »
My ancestor, Celia King married John Turner in 1827 in London. The two witnesses to this marriage are Henry and Ann Ambrose. Her father is listed on her death certificate as Charles and her year of birth as 1806. The only baptismal information that sort of matches (someone helped me find) is in Lavenham where I know the family lived. The transcript is: Celia King, St. Peter & St. Paul Church, 09 Dec 1822. This was in Suffolk Baptism Index part 4, entry 626. The parents are listed as Charles King, shoemaker (I can confirm her father was a shoemaker) and Mary Ambrose. The names seem possible but they married in 1814 so the math doesn't seem to work. I would like to see if I can order the original just in case there is a clue.  Does anyone know where I can order a copy of this document? Thanks for your help!

Thanks keyboard86. I think this might be the correct family with a daughter Celia and might be pointing to the answer that this isn't my Charles King. Maybe a brother?? I will look into it a little further. Thanks again!

OK Let us nevertheless let us see if we can work out who father Charles occ Shoemaker was, when you state on the death certificate of Celia it showed Fathers Name Charles,  did Celia emigrate as Fathers name on a UK Death certificate does not normally occur?

1841 census

Celia 30 Not born in county
Plus children 1828 to 1841 born Middlesex

Good catch! Celia and her family immigrated first to New Zealand and then to Australia. She died 28 Jul 1894 and I have attached a portion of the information.
