Charles or Charlotte Weldon?

I am searching for my 4x great grandmother's sibling, which is either Charlotte or Charles Weldon, I am not sure at this point!

On Ancestry, the 1861 Birkenhead census RG9/2642 has a Chas Weldon born abt 1825 d, occupation a boiler maker living in 5 Byrom Street.

Then on the 1871 census RG10/3747 there is a Charlotte Weldon born abt 1834 in Dublin,Ireland, living in 14 Byrom St.  occupation a servant, and recorded as the head's sister.

I need help finding him /her after the 1871 census.

There is a marriage for a Charlotte Weldon on Q/E Mar 1880 -- but in Chorlton Registration District (an area of Manchester). It may be worth exploring.

It may help if we know the name of your 4xgt gmother and her date & place of birth, Also her parents names if you know them

The Chas Weldon you found on earlier census has been enumerated as a male. bn c1825

Rosie -- I think from the first post Charlotte had been found in 1871, as you say - she is shown as the unmarried sister of Margaret Dunbar - and the poster is trying to find her AFTER that census.
Or am I misunderstanding? I often do!

No you are not misunderstanding but I could not locate her in 1871 which often helps me when I am looking for people on following census.

Many thanks for your help, I have managed to find a birth for a Charles Weldon in Dublin for 1833 - no  sign of a birth yet for Charlotte. I am beginning to think she does not exiist, and it was a transcript error!

Does the birth show any other details to link Charles to Margaret?

Perhaps Charles of 1861 was a relative but not a sibling.  He is described as a lodger and the ages and occupations in the two censuses are quite different.
