Can someone please give me a date for this photo?

All I know is that it as taken at Burlington Studios, Melbourne, Vic, Australia.

I think probably 1920's but could be into the 30's. This type of studio setting had been around a long time & you don't see it so much after 1930.
It's interesting to see one in colour as this was before colour photos became commercially viable.
The method was usually to hand colour them & they were so well done it's difficult to spot, unless of course this has been digitally coloured recently.
I would say she's 12/13.

My first impression was that this was a 1940s photo and would agree with Jim's age estimate....not sure about dating Australian photos though. Lovely image.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and attempts to improve the photo.  The photo, itself, is in good order and the scan reduced the vibrancy of the colours. 

Unfortunately, we're not that much closer to finding out who the young girl is, at least now we have some clues and I can start going through the trees to find likely candidates.
