Does Anyone Recognise This Hotel?

Gaffy, I thought it was a carpark.

Scouse Boy, the sporting club is actually on an island in downtown Cairo. I went there when living in Egypt. It's flat.

In the second photo, is that a word above the upstairs door/opening?

Looks a little like one of the Indian RAJ Hill Station summer retreats like The Viceroy Lodge,Shimla or similar.I'll have a look in that area.

A long shot, but the cairn with pole could be Backstone Edge in Cumbria.

The "atmosphere" of the cairn shot reminds me of crowds milling round the summit of Snowdon,having got off the train.There is currently a trig point on the summit cairn,which might date back to the 1960s,but I can't recall ever seeing a photo with a pole,unfortunately.
