Cock Road Gang

Hello!

Right i need help. I am researching the Caines / Cains / Kaines Family from Siston in Gloucestershire and came across a gang that terrorised a nearby hamlet named Cock Road. I first noticed on www.BRH.org that several members of the Caines Family were involved with the gang!  :o
Does anyone know about this gang? who they were? and if they were related to my Caines family?
I have seen the names George, Thomas, Benjamin, Joseph and Samuel but without dates i havent a clue if they are in the tree??

Does anyone have them in their tree?

I have searched Google extensively so please do not recommend that.

Hi,

The first reference I can see to the 'Cock Road Gang' is a newspaper article dated 13 October 1814 and the last being in 1817.

Members of the Caines family that were jailed in Gloucestershire from 1814 - 1850.
