Wilcoxon can't see the whole pages on my phone but would like to find out more about Jonah's failed business. At one point after he moved to Manchester he was a lamp lighter.

Thanks for the 51 census details! With such common names I 'm unsure if I have the right people!

Aaargh....

I've also found a burial in Llangollen, January 1871 for a Mary Roberts, aged 95, but not sure as address is given as Unicorn and very little to go on. Roberts is a pretty common surname in those parts, as I know to my cost - my tree is riddled with Roberts, Jones and Parry!

I went to school in Llangollen but haven't heard of Unicorn  ???

This is the only Unicorn I can find in the Llangollen area. Seems like the landlords were also Roberts

I think the 1851 census is them, Gwen, but I'm not sure of the Unicorn lady - maybe a check on the 1861-81 censuses for there might through some light on the Roberts family who lived there.

I'm busy for the next week or so won't be able to do any more for a while.

I don't think it's anything to do with your Roberts, Gwen.

I have a marriage record for the Parish Church, Llangollen for the 22nd of July 1840 between Jonah Roberts and Jane Edwards. The place of Residence is given as Maes yr Ychen for Jonah and Bron Heulog for Jane. Are these houses or areas? I've got the family on the 1841 census in Pentre Uchaf.Any help in this area would be much appreciated.
