Hello Moys - Hard to read but it is actually father in law. He is a cordwainer - a shoe-maker. 8)
Southern or Southan [Hereford , Monmouthshire & Glos], Jenkins, Meredith and Morgan [Monmouthshire and Glos.], Murrill, Damary, Damry, Ray, Lawrence [all Middx. & London], Nethway from Kenn or Yatton. Also Riley and Lyons in South Africa and Riley from St. Helena.

Hi Moira,

I agree with Hackstaple -  cordwainer (shoemaker)

But could the second William be the  Father of head as they are both William Burgess Cordwainer.

Hi Moira

At times this hobby of ours is definitely a load of old cobblers   ;)

I think the words actually say "Father to Head"  ;D

But I see others have already worked that out for you .

Anyway!!!

Carol

Correction - I magnified this and it is indeed Father to Head. :-[

Hi Carol,
That's great, now you have said that it's
"Father to Head" I can see it quite plainly.

Cheer up Hackstaple we can't all be as
clever as Carol ;)

Many thanks for your time,
Moira
