Hi Maria

As I think I said on  your previous thread the nearest I can think of to Morovenside is the parish of Muiravonside in Stirlingshire. I have done a search for a birth for Jane Hutchinson in that parish and have drawn a blank.( This was on familysearch).

However doing a search for Hutchinson births in Muiravonside the nearest I can get is for a John Hutchieson 5 Sep 1764 with parents Stephen Hutchieson and Barbara Hyslop. I mention this because I notice that Stephen and Barbara are among the names of the children you have listed.

William
Dent (Haltwhistle and Sacriston), Bell and Jetson (Haltwhistle), Postle, Ward, Longstaff, Purvis, Manners, Parnaby and Hardy (Co. Durham), Kennedy and McRobert (Banffshire), Reid(Bathgate), Watson (Wemyss), Graham (Libberton), Sandilands (Carmichael), Munro (Dingwall)

Thanks Millmoor. As you said, it was you who prompted me to buy the birth cert on a previous query, which proved you correct on Isabella Turnbull's mother's maiden name. As I read what you have just written I too instantly thought of the children's names and your instincts are good. Definately something to consider. Thanks all, Maria

Further to William's message,
 from familysearch
marriage at Chollerton NBL 24 June 1758  Stephen HUTCHISON & Barbara HESLOP

There is a 1752 will of James HESLOP of Chollerton mentions a daughter Barbara

search here with link to will

With regards to the missing years when no Trotter children appear, perhaps they moved away from Newburn to Scotland

It's great to log on and see more really interesting stuff thanks. I couldn't find the Stephen marr so will defin have a look at that, and the will. In fact, that website you posted Fiddlersclass has had me absorbed and totally distracted for the last 10 mins - I know I will get nothing done at home today.........!!! Regarding the Jane Trotter burial; it could be but there's also a George Trotter marr to a Jane Gair at Newburn. I have Geo as a possible brother to Thomas Trotter (Jane's hubby) as he was also a keelman and his children's baptisms run alongside Thomas', so I feel sure he's either a bro or cousin, but need to confirm their father at some point. The burial may be Jane Gair's. I really do appreciate the interest you have all shown. Thank you.
