   i am trying to find marriage of WILLIAM HENRY BARNES wife AMELIA i think he
  would have married around 1820, he lived in hungerford berkshire in 1820
  where i think JOHN BARNES was his first child born 1820, its amelia maiden name i need
                        any help appreciated

Hi Jake

I had a look and I don't think that John Barnes baptised in Hungerford was the first child of William & Amelia before they came to Hungerford they seem to have been living in Letcombe Regis where they had

1811 William Henry
1813 Mary Ann
1815 Amelia
1817 George


I think this is WilliamHenry Barnes (the elder) in the 1851 census

William Barnes H Wid 60 Brick & Tile Maker born Chilton Wilts
George Barnes son age 32 born Letcombe
Catherine Barnes Dau aged 30 born Hungerford
Eleanor Barnes Dau age 25 born Hungerford
Frederick Barnes Son aged 19 born Hungerford
Louisa Barnes Gdau aged 2 born Hungerford

I checked the transcripts for Letcombe Regis for the marriage and it is not there either - but I think you need to be looking around 1810 not 1820
