Background may be on board ship. Children, Arthur born 1913, Heather 1915 and Betty 1917. I'm bad at guessing ages but would say this photo were taken 1926 to 1928ish.

We are trying to identify the photo in the original posting, not the one of the Baden Powells!

Thanks for that JenB, the post by Regorian had me worried for a while as I could see a big tree in front of a building!!!
I used to have a belt like the one in your picture
Lord Baden Powell died in 1941 so the photo I posted is before that date.
The original photo could be dated to the late 1920s early 1930s going by the hats worn by the other ladies.
I met Lady Baden Powell in 1952 when she visited my home town, in fact I was chosen to give the speech of welcome. Of course she looked older then..

Sorry, I do go off at tangents sometimes, however, the subject must be a Girl Guide of some seniority.

Thank you all - my original question is answered - Girl Guide leader about 1930

A mystery remains though, who and where, and why did my mother have this photo!

............................................................ the building still intrigues me a bit. Might it possibly not be in the UK at all? One possible scenario: guide was a friend of mgeneas' mother and went to a camp somewhere overseas; had her photo taken there and gave it to mother on return. But working that out could be a long job, and I'm not sure I'm up for it at the moment.

Arthur

Of course you are Arthur  ;D

There looks to be a large wooden gate to the left, also, those are strange looking finials on the posts at the left hand side.

There is also the small building on the left which is connected to the main building by a flat top roof with what looks like a walkway underneath  :-\

Frank  :)
That  looks like the  entrance porch.       Like some country mansions     or big hotels    there is   a  sheltered  carriage   port   outside the front door/entrance.

Good evening,

It looks very similar to some of the old telephone exchanges. The bit on the left probably the WCs with a covered path leading to them.
