Well I guess that confirms the Gartan or Garton maiden name. Any suggestions on where to look for possible baptismal entries? Thanks Rob

Thanks..will search around nearby parishes for likely baptismal entries. I guess this is where it gets quite difficult unless the surname is relatively rare! Cheers Rob

I tend towards the marriage entry which gives her name as Gardner. Have you seen the entry to see how she signed? Or any birth certs of her children which will also show her maiden name?

Your difficulties with adjoining parishes are that whilst those in Beds will be on the IGI, online records for Hunts are sparse and for many parishes they are only available at Huntingdon Archives
