Karoline Louisa Auguste Schoch 1882 - 1951 (ish)
« on: Friday 14 October 16 21:37 BST (UK) »
Hello there,

My great Aunt Karoline (Lena) was born in Ohringen, Germany. At some point in her life she became a "Diakonisse" Nurse/Nun and it thought that she died in Stuttgart around 1951 (as per a church record from Ohringen).
However I do not know if she ever married and I can not find an official death for her anywhere.

I  already have all details on her siblings and parents ( after years of searching and help on this site) but would love to get the death record confirmed if possible.

Thanks

Richard

Hello Richard,

the best might be to ask an archivist:

Landeskirchliches Archiv Stuttgart
Balinger Str. 33/1
70567 Stuttgart

Telefon +49 711 2149-373   Fax +49 711 2149-180

E-Mail: archiv@@elk-wue.de  (One @ to be deleted)

As far as I know Diakonissen had been unmarried and they are very often burried on a special part of the cemetary.

Rudolf

Thank you Rudolf,

I am not sure but I think the micro film records from http://www.archiv.elk-wue.de/ also reside with the FamilySearch.org of which the Genealogical Society of Utah is a branch of.
I have noticed many of the results of my research in Germany also turn up in Family Search records as well.
I have contacted the Diakonisse in Stuttgart asking for assistance some time ago but they have never responded, even to acknowledge my inquiry. So I am at a loss as to how to find details of G/Aunt Karoline's death.

The search goes on

Richard
