In terms of "Sarah Fox Vincent" being right for "Sarah Fox", I think her Brother Nathan (d1811) and her son Nathan (b1826) look "right"; not a common name.

Well, You have certainly made things so much easier to understand. Thank you so much. I shall add the names to my tree. I thought they must be connected somewhere as my Susannah may have met John in Mendlesham at some point as he was the shoemaker.

You mentioned first cousins so that is more than likely.

I have a paternal branch of my tree who throughout the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries were Yeoman farmers in Somerset and they are marrying firsts cousins and relations to keep the money and farms in the family and to help extend their property. I think it was the done thing back then.
