obituary look up of george ingram, death markham 1956. please.

hello,
         could anyone please help, Iam looking for any obituary on George
         trying to find if he is the same George  born 1876 hillsbrough
         co-down.

        George married 24 nov 1934, age 58 widower. his wife was age 45.
        both have the same address in Toronto, Canada.
        he died in 1956 and his wife in 1968, Grace Anglican Church Cemetery.
        headstone reads 1872?-1956.

        everything says its him but, a looking for link with a family
        notice. if there is any.

George's headstone clearly says 1872 but a couple of years is no big deal.

Hi,

Did a search in the Toronto Star and Globe and Mail for 1956.  There is one George Ingram, but he doesn't appear to be yours.   I tried several different search terms, but couldn't find your man.  If you had a specific date of death - rather than just a year - I could search day by day around that date.  That might turn him up!!

The one I did find says.. George Ingram died in Newmarket on Aug 28 1956.  Husband of the late Mary Grace Ingram.  It lists some children, but no other relatives.  Burial at St. Johns Norway cemetery in Toronto. 

Doesn't sound like your man.

Edith's obituary comes up quite easily :.  She died in the hospital in Scarborough on Aug 16, 1968.  She had lived in Markham, was in her 79th year, wife of the late George Ingram.  No kids mentioned... only a friend, Maude Irwin of Unionville.  Buried in Grace Church Cemetery, Markham.

Guess what??  .....

That George Ingram died at his residence in Markham on Thursday May 26, 1955.  He was in his 80th year.  Husband of Edith Maud Perrins.  Interment Grace Church Cemetery.  No other names are mentioned.

The dates from the obituary are a better match for your George than the dates on the tombstone.  If he was 79/80 in 1955, he would have been born around 1875-6.

hi runkitty,
                 thank you very much for your help, I tried to find the date of George
                 but not having much luck. I did come across the marriage reg 1934.

                 everything points to him being the same person, one time he has
                 used the middle name " francis " but  no where else.

                 am over in Belfast soon,will check if I can see when he moved
                 to Canada.  will post if I find any info.
