In view of the alternatives Hufsham/Hussum, I wonder if the f is not an f at all, but a long s?

"
www.historicgraves.ie
has a Burial in St Augustins Graveyard Friars Walk Abbeyside Dungarvan for a JOHN HUFSHAM b. 1762 D. 24th July 1809 age 47yrs. Grave No WA-STAU-033..."
http://historicgraves.com/graveyard/st-augustine-s/wa-stau
has an image of what is being talked about!
It has been transcribed by someone as Hufsham but that doesn't mean they are correct... similarly they trnscribed O'Neil incorrectly too!!

Looking at the picture above, the "f" letter in the name does not resemble the f in "life" in the following line. If I had only seen the picture, I would probably have gone for Hulsham. It would be easy to see how Hulsham could become Hussum.

Captain Tom Donoghue
http://www.mariner.ie/history-3/articles/ships/kerlogue
The Kerlogue was repaired in cork following her attach and Captain Thomas Donohue took command. It was under his experience captaincy that the Kerlogue made her greatest rescue. He also commaned the Laby Belle when bombed and the Irish Oak when torpedded.
In the write up Donoghue is spelt Donohue.
also this sight might be able to help you.

The old S and F looked very similar, the F had a stroke that went each side and the S only to left... as in this example
