James Wilson born 1811-1815 glasgow?
« on: Thursday 03 November 16 12:59 GMT (UK) »
Sorry if I already made a post of this last year, I looked for one and couldn't find it but if I have I will delete this one. Sadly I still cant find james Wilson a tin smith born 1811-1815 Lanarkshire, his son john Wilson born Scotland 1842 listed him as living on his Wolverhampton wedding day in 1862 and johns widow listed james as living in Wolverhampton 1870 in johns obituary but i would love to find more info on james and the Wilson line before him. To be fair, John Wilson listed himself as born in Scotland on the 1861 census and the only reason I believe he came from Glasgow/lanarkshire was because he briefly moved back there in 1862 with his new wife before returning to Wolverhampton to die there in 1870. Johns obituary noted him as the only son of James and as John had a daughter called Elizabeth then maybe that was his mom or sisters name, but any help finding james Wilson in any year is greatly appreciated.

The birth certificate for John would name both his parents.
Can John be found in 1851/1861 - who was he living with?

Could you quote the information that says James was living in Wolverhampton?
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Thank you I can see the 1861 now.

Possible family for 1851 in Barony

James Wilson 36 born Barony Lanark
Marion 37 born Glasgow
Marion 11 born Barony
John 9 born Barony
Elizabeth 2 born Glasgow

However James at that time was a hand loom weaver not a tin smith

Who were the witnesses of the marriage?
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos
